Read about how these work before you fill out this form. Trust me.

Hi, I’m J. Kevin Tumlinson. You may know me from such videos as those posted below. Or maybe you’ve heard my voice and/or seen my face in one of hundreds of different YouTube videos and podcasts or thousands of podcast episodes.

There’s a reason they call me The Voice of Publishing. I swear I don’t pay them to.

And I guess you might know me as a bestselling and award-winning novelist. And if so… God bless you.

Here’s the thing…

I do a lot of video and audio stuff. Outside of writing, it’s the sort of thing I simply love doing. It’s fun. And, I’ve learned, I’m pretty good at it. But there’s a special extra bonus that comes out of it for me—one that has benefited me as a novelist:

Every time I make one of these videos or ad spots, my sales go up.

And I figure, if it’s true for me it could be true for you.

Stuff we’ll make together:

There’s a lot we can do, but start thinking in terms of product reviews, video and audio advertisement, comedy sketches that promote you and your book, product, or service, trailers for your book or movie… look, there’s a lot we can do here. Let’s talk about it.

Not Your Typical Ads

Before you rush to fill out the form and get a free consultation and a quote for your One Take Ad, here are some things you should know:

More services you can use

Find all the ways you can work with me to work for you. Click the image.

  1. I’ll be writing, recording, staring in, voicing, and producing this video to promote you and your work, but there’s an element of “Kevin” in every video. There may be other people who get some screen or mic time, here and there (we can work that out). But the idea for these is “Kevin as spokesperson.”

  2. These are meant to be funny. Which means I may take a bit of liberty, poke a little fun, tease a little. Nothing that should hurt your brand or reputation, but these are meant to be a bit irreverent. Think “any ad Ryan Reynolds has done.” You’ll get to approve things before they go public, so don’t worry too much.

  3. I allow for a certain level of creative feedback, but not as much as some people are comfortable with. So keep that in mind. The idea is to produce a quirky, funny, fun video or audio track that promotes you, your brand, your books, your products, whatever. Again, you get to approve it before it emerges into the world, but be prepared to loosen your grip on the creative. Also, if we get as far as “ready to release” and you decide to nix it, the contract will require that I get paid in full for the work. Just something to keep in mind. But so far, no one has refused to run with what I produced.

  4. I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, but especially if you’re being a doink to me or someone else. And if you are being a doink, you will be penalized—I’m keeping the deposit. Call it a Doink Tax.

  5. I record most video and audio in my own space, but sometimes venture out into the scary IRL world. If you want something set in a specific space (like your office, at a certain landmark, a fancy resort, on a private jet, etc.) we’ll factor travel, accommodations, food, and some other things into the final cost.

  6. When the spot is done, you get to use it anywhere and in (just about) any way you like, as long as you don’t edit it to make it deceitful in some way, or to make me look bad or something. However, I reserve the right to put the spot on my own public reel, via YouTube or other resources.

  7. If you like the spot, and especially if you see some positive benefit in the form of sales or other perk, I’d appreciate a referral (send them to this page!). And, to help convince you, if they use your referral code I will give them 10% off of their costs give you 10% of their final bill.

How does all of that look and sound? Maybe at least as good as the pieces in the Reel below, right?

Good. Now… scroll back up and fill out that form to get started.

Let’s make some magic.
